![]() But since the arcology districts double population capacity and the city districts support 15 and you also get double the number of districts on a ecumenopolis so a 15 tile planet will provide 30 districts. In my last game I had 3 21+ tile planets so I didn't need one. I already have plans to get a synth colony on an energy rich world and there are two mineral rich worlds nearby as well. As good as a bustling ecumenopolis can be, an empty one is.just kinda sad. Also, you'll want to get it at least partially lived in, or have a plan to do so while you make the transition. A planet with nothing but cities isn't giving too much back to the empire in terms of raw resources, that will only get worse when you enhance it. You'll need to plan out how to keep your economy afloat with just that cuty planet first. This planet needs to have all of its districts opened (at least in the beta, I think the current stable version this might not be true) and they all need to be city districts. How much surplus would I need before making one of these planets? Also what kind of preparations would I need to make? You'll want to pick your "city planet" out early. Okay that makes sense, but I assume the energy costs for the planet itself would be quite high. Each district supports 10 jobs, so 1 Alloy District for 10 alloy jobs is very powerful, plus it doesn't cost any of the special resources, unlike the upgraded Alloy Foundry building.
